Who is a Good Candidate for Microdermabrasion?
Almost anyone who wants to get rid of wrinkles, lines, sun damage, uneven texture, or acne scarring can benefit from it . Here are some of the most frequently asked questions I get:
Q. What Areas Can Be Treated?
A. The face and neck are the primary areas on which microdermabrasion is performed. However, it can be performed on any area of the body.
Q. Does It Hurt?
A. No. Some report a mild tingling or stinging sensation that typically subsides within a few hours. Most patients report no pain at all.
Q. How Long Does Recovery Take?
A. There is virtually no real recovery period from a microdermabrasion treatment. Women can actually apply makeup immediately after a procedure, and it is fine to return to all normal activities after microdermabrasion. It is advisable, however, to use a high quality sunscreen for about a week following a treatment.
Q. What complications and risks are possible?
A. Microdermabrasion does not involve any serious risks. However, people with very sensitive skin may experience a little more irritation than those with normal skin. If you have any apprehension, please let me know and we can discuss any concerns you may have..
